SBE Student Challenge - 1st workshopday

Nov 7
09:30 - 17:30
Location: werfkeet Rinkoniên Royerssluis, Oosterweelsteenweg 3, 2030 Antwerpen

With the SBE Student Challenge we want to introduce students in an informal way to design challenges that are less common for you, but everyday for the experts at SBE. The idea is to bring students together across educational institutions, departments and fields of study and let you work on an integrated project in a transdisciplinary way.

But you are not alone! We are organizing a site visit (November 7, 2024) and two workshop days at the SBE office in Sint-Niklaas (February and March 2025 > exact dates we will fix in consultation with the participants). During these days you will meet other students and experts in a relaxed atmosphere. Together you will work on different design topics related to the assignment. Our 3 promises: inspiration, technical enrichment and insight into working life. Moreover, we from SBE provide snacks, drinks and a fun finale at the end of each workshop day.

The challenge is a design competition in architectural, landscape and technical fields that you preferably take on in groups, with a mix of students from different disciplines. The topic of this fifth edition is the design of sustainable bicycle bridges and tunnels at the Royers Lock in Antwerp. You will present the final result on the last workshop afternoon in front of a professional jury. The design team that is judged best will receive a nice cash prize of €2,000.
